Partners In Health (PIH) is an international health organization relentlessly committed to improving the health of the poor and marginalized. PIH partners with local governments to build local capacity and works closely with impoverished communities to deliver high-quality health care, address the root causes of illness, train providers, advance research, and advocate for global policy change.

PIH currently has implementation programs in Haiti, Rwanda, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Peru, Mexico, Russia, Sierra Leone and Navajo Nation. Through our partnership with Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, we support a wide range of programs in dozens of other countries around the world.

General Responsibilities:

The Marketing and Communications Intern’s role is to develop marketing tools to help with fundraising, spread awareness of CES, and sustain branding within Mexico. S/he will be in charge of improving and implementing CES’s marketing strategy across a variety of platforms including the website, social media, and print materials. A successful candidate will have extensive experience with graphic design and marketing strategy. S/he will ideally be self-motivated, creative, and resourceful. The intern will have opportunities to create his/her own projects and propose new ideas to the leadership team. The position is ideal for a candidate interested in graphic design and capacity building for non-profit organizations.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Update current marketing materials (i.e. business cards, executive summary, etc.)
  • Manage the website and social media platforms
  • Create new marketing materials as needed (i.e. annual report, posters, presentations)
  • Develop stories for publication - especially if the individual has a particular interest in journalism
  • Photography projects
  • Propose new projects based on personal interest

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom (candidate needs to already have these programs on his/her computer)
  • Previous experience designing marketing materials and managing marketing strategy
  • Interest in social justice strongly desirable
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Interest in developing new projects
  • Experience with photography and videography preferred, but not required
  • Spanish fluency or high proficiency
  • Experience in a low-resource or rural setting or with wilderness activities strongly preferred
